This description is specifically for the SKYNDEX SYSTEM I programed with the Slaughter-Lohman formula. The Slaughter-Lohman is named after the authors of the original research study. Each formula was developed from the results of underwater weighing and skinfold data taken from several hundred individuals over a wide range of age, body structure, body composition and exercise habits. The skinfold equations shown below are used to predict body fat in children 8-18 years of age:
